Community Conversation on Prescription Affordability

My name is Alice Thompson and I am a medical student at the Geisinger School of Medicine. I am reaching out because Mark Terwillger mentioned that you might be interested in an event we are hosting next month at the medical school regarding prescription affordability. The club I am a part of, Primary Care Progress, is coordinating a community conversation to address prescription affordability issues at the local level. While we are becoming more and more aware of how this issue plays out on a national level, we wanted to get a better idea of how it is impacting local residents. We also hope to get together folks from all sides of the issue - patients, doctors, pharmacists, health insurance administrators - in order to come up with community-based solutions to make sure everyone has access to the medications they need in order to live healthy lives.

It would be a great help if you could advertise this event to members of the church as I presume this is a topic that a lot of people can speak to. I've attached a copy of the flyer for the event as well as a survey that we are asking people with compelling stories to complete. We welcome any and all who are interested in attending and will provide a breakfast and lunch during the event.

Thank you so much for your help, and please let me know if you or any church members have any questions at all! Have a great weekend!

Best Wishes,

Alice Thompson
